REINS CARES – Equine Therapy Support Group
The Center for Senior Wellbeing is proud to collaborate with REINS (Therapeutic Horsemanship Program) to offer CARES, a monthly equine-assisted support program for caregivers and family members, as well as the loved ones they support who are living with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and dementia. Held on the second Saturday of each month, this unique program uses the calming and balancing effects of horses to support the wellbeing of all participants.
During each session, caregivers and family members engage in guided activities focused on restoring balance, connecting with others in similar roles, and gaining practical coping strategies. At the same time, their loved ones take part in supportive, hands-on experiences facilitated by Occupational Therapy Doctoral (OTD) students and supervised by licensed clinicians.
Advance registration is required for this no-cost program. To register for CARES, click on the button to the right.
